Description
arriving in the bay of Agios Ierussalim we see immediately that the beaches are two, one after the other.
The first is deeper and has sunbeds and umbrellas, pedal boats for rent and a restaurant / bar just behind.
The second one is shallow, longer and it is free.
Behind the beaches there are amazing green hills and the area is very quiet as it is not so much touristic.
The stretch of coast near the beach is not possible to reach from a road so it can be a good idea to rent a pedal boat or canoe to visit on your own and have a swim in a sea really wonderful.

Assos is a small gem, that you can notice also from the distance of the coast road..
The village is very small and there are two beaches not very large.
One of the two is right in the village and it’s more long than wide.
There are some sunbeds in high season and a part is always free.
Just behind you can find two restaurants for lunch and the beach is anyhow close to all the other restaurants, bars and shops in of the village
The second beach is along the narrow road leading to the castle of Assos (last two photos).
It 's a bit deeper than the previous one and is completely free. |

Myrtos

Description
one of the most famous beaches in Greece, Myrtos is distinguished by its size, for its pure white pebbles and the deep blue sea.
It’s surrounded by high cliffs and there is only one road that from the village of Divarata will lead you down to Myrtos bay.
The beach is huge and therefore the areas free of deck chairs are many, even if it is crowded in August.
The sea has a depth that degrades very quickly and at the left end of the beach there are also a cave where you can pass through.
There are also panoramic spots, going on the coastal road to Assos, where you can admire the beach as a whole.
Myrtos has the sunset right in front and then if you stay late at the beach you can also enjoy the calm sea and the shades of pink in the sky.
Another peculiarity is that the sea a bit 'rough water becomes an almost electric fluorescent blue.

the bay of Agios Kiriakis is very large.
There is on the left of the bay a small village with a couple of restaurants and a marina to moor your boat.
The rest of the bay is occupied by the beach which is very long but not very deep.
The beach seems almost divided in two by a small rocky promontory and there is a road that runs along tall over.
The part of the beach to the east is deeper and the sea slopes gently across the bay. |

Description
Vouti is always in the bay of A. Kiriakis but in the western end.
There are two beaches one after the other with stunning colors.
Blue sea contrasts with the white sand creating a paradisiacal setting.
The natural setting is lovely also for a big stone in front of the beach.
It 's definitely a suitable area for snorkeling. |

Description
Porto Atheras is a secluded beach.
To get there by car you have to drive for a lot of kilometers, and the last 9 are on a a dead road.
For this reason it is not a crowded beach, maybe you can meet just tourist arrived here with a private boat. the bay is well sheltered and protected with a port that is perfect for mooring.
The beach has nothing exceptional except for the fact that it is not crowded.
On the coast, going to the left there is a path that leads to the harbor and a church.

Petani is a very nice beach, similar to Myrtos but smaller and certainly less known and crowded.
The sea as Myrtos has fantastic colors and becomes deep very quickly with often high waves for fun.
There are lots of rocky outcrops on the left side of the beach that create breathtaking colors.
There is no shortage of dining options for lunch a few steps from the beach.

Description
Lagadakia is in the south of the peninsula of Paliki and to get there you will pass an impressive lonely area with the road that from a hilly area goes down till the sea.
You will enjoy a swim in this tiny little bay of stones around with nothing except a wonderful sea and rocks on both sides.
The beach is isolated, picturesque, quiet and the sea is transparent suitable for lovers of mask and fins.
Probably not the place to spend a whole day but it is certainly a step not to be missed when visiting this part of Kefalonia island. |

From the beach of Vatsa (also known as Agios Nikolaos beach from the name of the nearby church) starts the sequence of red sand beaches that cover the southern part of the peninsula of Lixouri.

The sea is crystal clear and because of the color of the sand tends to be dark blue.
The clay that makes up the hill behind the beach can be used to make the sludge if it is dissolved in water.
