Size

small beach

Description

this beach is right in front of a large hotel and there is a path to get there.
Not easy to find is small and has nothing exceptional to which it is worth to go there, unless you do not stay here with the accommodation.
The sea is always beautiful and also the view across the peninsula of Kefalonia and behind the mountains deserves.

Lepeda is considered the official beach of Lixouri that is the largest town after the capital of Kefalonia.
From Lixouri to get there along the waterfront to the south, is 1 Km and a half.
Lepeda is a beautiful deep red sandy beach, not too different from the more famous Xi but definitely less crowded.
At the very beginning of the beach there are some rock formations on the beach bordering a small little bay, creating a breathtaking sight.
On the beach there is also a beach volleyball net for those who want to have fun and not just bask in the sun.
Worth noting that the whole stretch of coast between Lixouri and the beach is accessible and Lepeda red sand but should be considered free without bars or chairs for rent.

Following the road that goes to the sea to reach the beach of A. Ioani that is a marina for fishing (you can also see mussel farms not far) than a real beach. I do not recommend to spend the day.
Just before arriving at the beach on the left there is a dirt road that leads to the church of Ag Spiridona which is built on a rock just a few steps from the water.
